SETC 64th Annual Convention March 6-10, 2013, Louisville, KY

Over 4,000 actors, professional company representatives, design and technical professionals, theatre educators, students from universities and high schools, commercial exhibitors, university representatives, community theatre producers and participants – those who practice theatre as a vocation and those who hold it as their avocation – will gather for The Nation’s Largest Theatre Convention at the Galt House Hotel, Louisville, KY. 

Since 1949, SETC has been hosting an annual convention held each year during the first week of March. This is a theatre convention that HAS IT ALL! Participants can choose from a multitude of events and activities to find their niche or interest.

Annette Grevious

Annette Dees Grevious is a tenured Associate Professor of Speech and Drama at Claflin University, where she has taught for nearly eleven years.  She is Director of the Claflin University Theatre Ensemble, Founder and Director of the Claflin University Touring Company, and immediate past president of the South Carolina Theatre Association; the first African-American female to serve in this capacity.  Ms. Grevious completed a faculty exchange with Hofstra University in 2007, where her experiences inspired her to further research differences and similarities among students and pedagogy at an HBCU versus a majority institution - specifically examining how it affects Acting pedagogy.  Furthermore, she had the opportunity to teach first year acting students, guest lecture on Black Theatre, and advise a student production of A Raisin in the Sun. She received her Master of Fine Arts in theatre performance from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky; a Bachelor of Arts in theatre from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia; and an Associate of Arts in speech and drama from the now Gainesville State College in Gainesville, Georgia.
